Glen Argan, editor of the Western Catholic Reporter in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, has written a series of 160 articles commenting on the sections of the catechism. All are linked to an on-line version of the catechism at the site of Saint Charles Borromeo parish in Picayune, MS. They give the inquiring person an in-depth view of the formal axioms of our faith coupled with informal commentary in tune with the daily living of our faith.

CCE in an intensive weekend for engaged couples to examine and deepen their relationship with each other and God. Topics covered include self-knowledge, communication, decision making, intimacy and morality, natural family planning, sacrament, engagement and betrothal, and unity of life. St. Joseph’s Covenant Keepers (SJCK) is a Catholic men’s group dedicated to helping to equip and encourage men for more effective service and relationships within their families. The group meets Friday morning for 6:30 a.m. Mass at Benedictine. All Catholic men who wish to grow stronger in their Catholic faith and in their roles as husband and father are invited to experience the positive power of this initiative.

The mission of Catholics in the Military is to strengthen Catholic families, and to promote vocations to the Military Archdiocese. It was launched Christmas Eve 2001 and offers U.S. Armed Forces personnel spiritual truths of military life in light of the Catholic faith.

Family Honor is a non-profit Catholic organization based in Columbia, South Carolina. The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men’s fraternal benefit society. Founded by Father Michael McGivney in 1882, his primary objectives were to support the cause of Catholic civil liberty and to “dissuade Catholics from joining secret societies.” The Knights have not only provided benefits to their members and families, but are renowned for their educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief, and public relief works.

“For Better or Worse… Through Good Times and Bad… The word Retrouvaille means ‘rediscovery.’” This live-in weekend program is aimed at couples who are looking for help, perhaps are even thinking of separation or divorce, but want to try again. Retrouvaille is a Catholic program, but couples of other faith expressions are welcome. Post-weekend sessions are also held to reinforce, review, and help couples to continue along the path of reconciliation and marital happiness.

The Serra Club of Savannah is a Diocesan-wide endeavor, affiliated with the USA Council of Serra International. Serrans are lay men and women who are committed to being the vocation arm of our Church. As Pope John Paul II wrote, “The fostering of vocations cannot be considered a marginal activity, but must be incorporated fully into the life and activity of the community.” In so doing the Serra ministry enriches and develops their members’ common Catholic faith.
