Families celebrate each other! Our family in faith is no different! Two of our parishioners have accomplished some amazing physical feats in the past few weeks.
At the Junior Olympics, one of our 7th graders and altar servers, John Dodson, placed 22nd out of 88 runners in the 1500 meter race and medaled in the 3000 meter race! Just last weekend our Cross Country team had its first race and John came in first in in the JV Boys Division! Congratulations, John!
A couple weeks ago, Michael and Sheryl Cohen, two parishioners who engage in competitive weightlifting, accomplished great deeds at the World Championships in Montreal! Sheryl is a cantor, sings in the choir, and directs our Youth Choir. A little over a week ago, this wonderful couple went to the World Championships. Michael survived a catastrophic knee injury on his Gold Medal attempt and took home the Silver Medal. Pray for his thorough and quick recovery! Sheryl also took home a Silver Medal and broke 4 World records and 4 USA National records! Congratulations, Michael and Sheryl!
As a family, we rejoice with one another and support one another. If you or your child accomplishes an amazing feat (academic, athletic, career, etc…), we want to celebrate with you! Please let us know at the Church Office so that we can celebrate the wonderful accomplishments of members of our family!
This week, all the priests will be on retreat. We will go down to Marywood Retreat Center in the Diocese of St. Augustine and enjoy fraternity with our brother priests in the Diocese of Savannah and have some time for prayer and reflection. Please keep all of us in your prayers this week.
Labor Day Weekend
May each of you rest from your labors and have a good and relaxing Labor Day weekend! Enjoy the extra day!
May the Lord bless you and your families this week!
