Lent and More!
Saturday, 09 March 2019
We had a wonderful Ash Wednesday to begin the Lenten Season! Many people came to the masses and received ashes. Even though it is not a Holy Day of Obligation, it is a beautiful way to enter into this Season. Each of us have chosen to give something up and/or add something to our spiritual exercises during these 40 days of Lent.
ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
On Saturday, March 16th, Savannah will have the 195th St. Patrick’s Day Parade! What a beautiful time to celebrate faith and family. I wish all of you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Be safe!
Between the Pledges and the One Time Gifts, we are about 80% of our goal for the 2019 Bishop’s Annual Appeal. The percentage of people in the parish who have given is a little low, but that will pick up, I am sure. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the BAA thus far. Your generosity is very much appreciated! To those who have not yet given, I would ask that you consider a gift so that the good work of building the Kingdom of God and caring for our neighbor throughout the diocese can continue. There is good work going on all over the 90 counties which comprise the Diocese of Savannah. No gift is too small. You can give online at www.diosav.org or through a check mailed in through the envelopes on the table in the narthex.
I am keeping each of you in my daily prayers. May this Lent be one of abundant blessings and graces for each of you and your families!
