Last week all the announcements were made for the new assignments that impact life at St. James the Less. Fr. Jason Adams will be leaving after 5 years and going to St. John the Evangelist parish in Valdosta. Fr. John Paul Heiser, OSB, will be teaching full time at BC. We will be receiving two newly ordained priests, Fr. Patrick May and Fr. Peter Lanshima.
I reiterate these announcements because they went into play last weekend and will be in effect on August 1st and just in case people haven’t heard. On July 28th, we will have a Farewell Reception for Fr. Adams and Fr. John Paul after the 11:30 AM mass. Please come and wish them blessings as they go to another spot in the vineyard of the Lord!
More from me about these two excellent priests later. What a blessing it has been to serve the people of God and minister with them! Pray for them as they make these transitions.
Happy 7th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ to Fr. Jason Adams!
7 years ago on June 30, 2012, Bishop Hartmayer ordained Fr. Adams to the priesthood! We are blessed that he has spent the last 5 years here at St. James. For every priest, the first assignments are incredibly formative and instrumental in who the priest becomes and how a priest is a minister of God. St. James the Less has had that impact on Fr. Adams. Happy Anniversary, brother!
Happy Independence Day!
On behalf of the clergy and the staff of St. James, I would like to wish you and your families a very Happy Independence Day! On this day, we thank the Lord for the gift of our nation and remember the sacrifices of so many who made this nation what it is. May the Lord bless each of you and your families as you spend this time together.
