A few Parish happenings to note. We have and will be quite busy!
This past week, the US Department of Education announced that our school, St. James Catholic School, is the recipient of the 2018 Blue Ribbon Award! This award is given for exceptional academic achievement and is only given to 50 non-public schools in the whole country! Congratulations to our IHM Sisters, our teachers and faculty, and our students and parents! Each of you have done so much to deserve this prestigious honor! Good work to each of you!
On Wednesday, October 10, we will have the welcome new-comers dinner! All the parish is invited to attend as we say hello to all those who have become part of our St. James Family this past year! Welcome to all of you! We are so very glad that you are here!
On Saturday, October 13th, everyone is invited to help celebrate the 11th Anniversary of the Lumen Christi Adoration Chapel. For the past eleven years, people have been committed to giving one hour of prayer and adoration before the Lord Jesus present in the Blessed Sacrament. What a gift we have here in our parish! Please come and help us celebrate 11 years of perpetual adoration here at St. James.
This week, you will be receiving two mailings: one from the parish and another from the school. The mailing from the parish concerns our registration information that we have for you and your family. We want to make sure that we have all the correct information. Please take the time to read it and to make all corrections necessary to your family’s information. This will help us in planning and in learning more how we can serve you and your family better.
The mailing from the school is for the Annual Appeal. This year, the appeal is going towards new sinks in the bathrooms and new chairs for the 7th and 8th grade rooms. We are continually improving the environment for our children to learn and seek the truth, goodness, and beauty of Almighty God. These things are next on the list to update the physical plant of our School. We need to keep that Blue Ribbon standard!
What a blessing to be a part of St. James the Less Catholic Church and School!
