Financial Accountability

As the Pastor of St. James, one of my responsibilities is to see to the good administration of the temporal goods of our parish – the facilities, grounds, and the finances. This week in the bulletin you find an insert of the Financial Report for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2023. I never cease to be amazed, grateful, and humbled by your generosity! The offertory surpassed our budget and led to a net income. We accomplished some wonderful things last year and had many opportunities to grow in faith and in charity through our many apostolates and ministries. Our balance sheet is very strong and will enable us to do even more things in the future! Thank you for your exemplary generosity!

One of the things that we were able to do last fiscal year was a feasibility study to determine the possibility of embarking upon a capital campaign for the church and the school to meet current and future needs. The study told us that we are in good shape to begin such an endeavor! Stay tuned for more news on that front!

We would like to hire a Director of Advancement for our Parish. This position would work with the school and the parish to assist in strategic planning (pastorally and fiscally) and to oversee other advancement endeavors. Megan O’Neil will continue to be part of this Advancement Team but will focus more on Admissions and Marketing for the School. If you see yourself in such a position or if you know of anyone who might have these gifts, please contact me!

Again, thank you for your generosity!

Please keep Fr. Peter in your prayers as he goes home to Nigeria on vacation for a few weeks.

May you and your families have a wonderful week and may the blessings of Almighty God be upon you!

~ Fr. Daniel Firmin
