Happy New Year!

2022!

Can you believe it? Here we are at the beginning of another year! Last year brought so many different joys, highlights, difficulties, and sorrows. For each of us we walked through quite a bit in 2021. Now we turn the page and look forward to a new year!

What will this year bring for you and me? We will have ups and downs, good times and difficult times, celebrations and sorrows. That is life. But one thing will be constant in our lives – the love of Jesus and His presence in our lives and in all that we do! He will be with us in everything that we endure and celebrate this year! He will be with us! His perfect love and presence conquers every fear in our hearts and souls. That doesn’t mean everything will be easy, but it does mean that we can push through and follow Him in everything we will experience this year.

Each year we make certain resolutions and goals for the New Year – eat healthier, lose weight, spend more time with the family, etc…. As we make all these resolutions for 2022, don’t forget your spiritual life, your life of prayer! Perhaps this year you can take an hour of adoration in the Lumen Christi chapel. Maybe this year you could commit to pray the rosary each day. Perhaps this year you will attend daily mass on Tuesdays and Thursdays or Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Maybe a goal could be to pick up 4 spiritual books this year from the Kiosk in the Narthex. Perhaps you will purchase the Magnificat (www.magnificat.com) or the Word Among Us to help you in your daily prayer.

EPIPHANY

Three wise men come from afar to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the King of the Jews, the Mighty God, and Prince of Peace! The King of the Universe born in the stable in Bethlehem as a man reveals Himself to the nations! They bring gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. What gift will you bring to Jesus this year?

Merry Christmas!

May the peace, joy, and love of Jesus be in your hearts and homes as we celebrate the Feast of Epiphany!
