Immaculée

Saturday, October 9th, at 7:00 pm in the Church here at St. James, we will be hosting Immaculée, a world renowned speaker and a survivor of the Rwandan genocide. Each year we host a speaker during October and ask them to speak on some aspect of the dignity of human life. She will share her experience of finding God in the midst of such awful tragedy and degradation. You do not want to miss her powerful story of faith, survival, and love! Please come and bring a friend!

ANNUAL DIOCESE OF SAVANNAH PRIESTS’ RETREAT

Monday, October 11 through Friday, October 15, Fathers Peter, May, and I will be attending our Annual Diocese of Savannah Priests’ Retreat. Each year we take time away to be with the Lord Jesus in prayer, adoration, and the Sacraments and to be with the other priests of the Diocese of Savannah and those working in the diocese. It is a time of rejuvenation, rest, and fraternity. The last three years have been interrupted by the threat of hurricanes or the pandemic so it will be extra special to be with each other this year!

This time away allows us to reflect on our vocation to the priesthood, our ministry to the people of God entrusted to our care, and our relationship with the Lord Jesus, our own discipleship. If we are to assist the people of God in their walk and journey with the Lord, then we need to tend to ours as well.

Please pray for us while we are away! The mass schedule will remain the same as Fr. Ronald Gatman, OSB, will be covering everything. Many thanks to him and the other Benedictines!

May the Lord bless you and your families abundantly!
