Parish Advent Mission!

Fr. Tim McKeown is here this weekend to preach at all the masses and to preach our Advent Parish Mission this year! Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings (December 5-7) at 7:00 PM in the Church, he will be preaching on how we can deepen our prayer life during Advent.

Almost every Sunday, we hear from the pulpit that we should pray. What does that mean? Where do I begin? How do I pray? These and other thoughts may be running through your head each time you hear us exhort you to pray. Fr. McKeown will give us practical advice and tools to grown in prayer, that conversation with God.

I look forward to seeing many of you there!

Reflect, Renew, Rejoice

Since September, Bishop Parkes has been holding listening sessions all around the diocese. The last few will be here in Savannah! Monday, December 13th, at 7:00 PM, we will host one of these sessions for the whole Savannah area. Please invite people from other parishes to come to St. James that evening.

These sessions are a chance for the Bishop to listen to you about what the diocese does well and what needs improvement and what should we be doing now and in the future. The sessions have really been good. Please make every effort to attend!

To understand the process in greater detail, please see the diocesan website (www.diosav.org).

Sunday Catechesis

Before every mass on the 2nd Sunday of every month, one of the St. James clergy will give a short teaching on a particular topic. It will be a brief nugget on some aspect of our Catholic faith – what we believe or why Catholics do certain things or why we say this or do that in the mass. Next weekend will be the 2nd time we have done this. Fr. Peter began this in November. Please let us know what you think!

May the Peace of Jesus mark each day during this season for you and your families!
