Catholic Schools Week

This weekend we begin Catholic Schools Week during which we celebrate the gift of our St. James School and the blessing it is to our parish, our children, and our families! 65 years ago, the school and the parish were founded and the Sister Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (the IHM sisters) began serving the many children and families that have come through the doors of the church and the school!

Our School is growing and is bursting at the seams! So many wonderful things happen in and through our school! The students come to know and love Jesus. They are formed so that they become good disciples of Jesus, men and women of faith, and are prepared with a good foundation to participate in our community of faith and in our larger society. This is the main ministry of our parish. What a blessing and opportunity to lead people – our children, parents, and families –  to an encounter with Jesus!

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for our school, our sisters, our teachers and staff, our students, and our families! Bless the plans and endeavors of our school, O Lord! St. James, pray for us!

Catholic Woman’s Conference

I would like to report that as of this writing, the number of women participating in our Catholic Women’s Conference surpasses the number of men who came to our Catholic Men’s Conference! The win goes to the Women!

What a beautiful and wonderful thing it is to see so many women who want to nurture and grow their own faith, hope, and love! It is so very encouraging to see them take the opportunity for prayer, fellowship, adoration, and a chance to receive the mercy of God in the Sacrament of Confession. Thank you to all who participated in the Conference and many many thanks to the leadership team who prepared this magnificent day! I pray that it was fruitful and will be fruitful in your life, your marriage, and your vocation.

May the Lord Jesus grant you and your family many wonderful blessings this week!
