Congratulations Graduates!

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful!

Congratulations Graduates!

Congratulations to all of our Graduates from 8th Grade, from High School, and from College! This milestone in your lives is a stepping stone towards fulfilling God’s plan for you in your life. Your parents, your friends, your pastor, your parish, and your God want you to be fulfilled and live an abundant life. The only way this happens is when God is consulted in the decisions we make about our future.

Each of you have been asked questions like what do you want to be, what career would you like to have, what will be your major in college? I suggest another one, what does God want me to be? Where does God want me to with the gifts and talents He has given me? Does God want me to serve the Church as a priest or a sister? How does God want to give me abundant life?

Congratulations on these momentous occasions in your life! I will keep you in my prayers. On this Pentecost Sunday, may the Holy Spirit guide you and fill you so that your life will be fulfilled and overflow with abundance!

The Chosen and Cheesesteaks

Have you seen The Chosen yet? I mentioned it in a Pastor’s Corner a few weeks back. It is a series about Jesus and the Apostles. In June and July, you can see it here at St. James! On Sunday afternoon after the 4pm Holy Hour and Vespers, we will have “The Chosen and Cheesesteaks” in the Conference Room. We will eat Cheesesteaks and watch an Episode of “The Chosen” followed by a discussion. I encourage each of you to join us! We will begin on June 6th at 5:00 PM and end at 7:00 PM.

This series has already impacted my own prayer life and how I read and experience the Gospels. Each episode is a result of prayer, especially Ignatian Prayer (using the intellect and imagination to place ourselves in the particular scene of Sacred Scripture). The Holy Spirit is definitely behind what is happening with this series. He is moving in a mighty way. I invite you to participate! You will not be disappointed! Hopefully, we will have to move to the gym/Parish Center!

Holy Spirit, light our hearts on fire with your love so that we might follow your will and be bold witnesses to the truth, Jesus Christ, in the world and to everyone we encounter. May they all encounter you through us. Amen!
